Meet the Governors
The Governing Body of The Kennet Federation of Katesgrove and Southcote Primary Schools
Governors play an important role in school leadership and are 'critical friends'. As volunteers, they have a collective responsibility for making sure that all children in the schools receive the best education possible in a safe and caring environment.
The Governing Body has a strategic role in providing challenge and support to ensure the schools develop, improve and achieve sustainable success.
They have three core areas of responsibility:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding senior leaders to account for the educational performance of the schools and their pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff
- Overseeing the schools' financial performance and making sure their money is well spent
All Governors meet as a full governing body throughout the school year. We also have a Curriculum committee and a Resources committee to ensure there is a focus on the priorities of the schools.
We hope you find the following information useful. If you would like any additional information or would like to contact the Governors directly, please make contact with the Clerk to Governors: clerk@thekennetfederation.co.uk
Your comments and suggestions are always welcomed by the Governors. We would love to hear from you!
